Mitundu slash gap onto Lions to one point
Mitundu Baptist capitalised from Red Lions' slip to move a point behind the leaders after securing a hard fought 1-0 win over Ntaja United at the Nankhaka Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Josophat Kwalira scored the lone goal of the match on 69 minutes to help Baptist return to winning ways after dropping points in their previous match.
Speaking after the game, Mitundu Baptist assistant coach, Stanton Thomson said the win was good as they needed it to move closer to the top spot.
"It was a tough match as both teams played to win but we tried hard and got the goal which is good because last week we lost in Mulanje so I'm happy with the win." Said Thomson.
On his view Chisomo Kamlanje, cried over officiation as he believed it favoured the hosts so that they get a win.
"I don't know how to talk about it because what we are facing in the League is too much. The referees were against us from the first whistle, denying us clear penalties,
wrong offside calls and fouls against us. This is very bad." Said Kamlanje.
The win took Baptist up to second with 18 points from 6 wins and three defeats while Ntaja United continue to drop points as they have 10 point from three wins, one draw and five losses on position 8.
