MALAWI COULD START DREAMING FOR THE WORLD CUP
Malawi National Football team, Flames, have been placed in what it looks like a fair group in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in a draw that has been conducted by Confederations of African Football on Thursday evening.
Malawi has been paired with Tunisia as top seeded team in Group H while Equatorial Guinea, Namibia, Liberia and Sao Tome and Principe are other teams in the group.
One of the Sports analysts in the country, Justin Mitambo, says this is just fair for Malawi and they can surely qualify for the World tournament.
"Surely, the draw had favoured us, we only have Tunisia as a tough opponent but with the confident the team has now after performing well at the COSAFA Cup, we can stop them. The other teams are average ones while the likes of SΓ£o Tome are our samousa." Said Mitambo.
In the latest changes of the qualifications, the winners of each groups will go straight to the World Cup. Malawi has never been at the tournament.
