Chinzimu, Kabzere to join U-20 team in Nigeria return crash
European based stars, Faith Chinzimu and Rose Kabzere, will be available for the return leg of the U-20 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria at the Bingu National Stadium on Saturday, Football Association of Malawi has confirmed.
This has been said by FAM President, Fleetwood Haiya, at the National Bank of Malawi media awards for the NBM U-23 Football Championship and NBM Women's Premiership at Money Men in Blantyre on Tuesday.
Haiya said the duo were not available in the first leg away in Nigeria as the club excused FAM because of important matches they were involved.
"Faith [Chinzimu] had her team [BK Hacken[ playing in the UEFA Europa Cup and thank God that they became the inaugural winners of the cup while Rose Kabzere had her team fighting for relegation zone in the Arkema Premiere Ligue in France so we understood the excuses from the team but now they have confirmed their availability on Saturday," he said.
He also said that they availability of the two will help the team to do better in the game as they trail by two goals and has called Malawians to fill the BNS to cheer the girls.
Malawi U-20 lost 2-0 in Nigeria last weekend and will need a win of a three goal margin to seal a place at the world tournament to be played in Poland later this year.
