NKOLONGO PROMISES FIRE IN COSAFA TOURNEY
Ascent Academy director and head coach, Thom Nkolongo, says his side is upbeat to kick off the COSAFA CAF Women's Champions League campaign with a win when they play Young Buffaloes from Eswatini on Friday afternoon.
Nkolongo said this ahead of the match saying the team are in the competition not just to participate but to compete and has promised Malawians to record a win in their first match.
"We will fight to secure a win this afternoon as the girls are very ready to showcase what we have been preparing. We are into the tournament not to participate but to compete so we did well in the local tournament and that's where we will start off in this tournament." Said Nkolongo.
This is the first time Ascent Academy is playing in the tournament but second from Ntopwa Super Queens in Malawi after they played in 2023.
The National Champions are in group Because of the tournament alongside UD Lichinga, Young Buffaloes and Gaborone Ladies.
