Bullets Women claim League double over Wanderers Queens
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women sealed a double in the NBM Womens Premiership over Mighty Wanderers Queens this season after claiming a narrow 1-0 win in a much heated match played at the Mpira Stadium on Saturday.
The People's team edged the Nomads with the same margin in the first round and Triza Chiwere's second half strike sealed the win to stay just one win away from securing the third spot in the League.
Head coach for the team, Maggie Chombo-Sadick hailed her players for their hard work which has kept them unbeaten in the whole of the second round this season.
"We had a team full of youngsters who were learning but now they are able to deliver and know what we want. I believe that if we continue this then next season we will have a very good team to compete for the championship," said Chombo-Sadick.
On his side, head coach for the Nomads Thom Kazembe blamed the officiation for contributing to their defeat.
"We played well in the first half but we failed to score and second half we struggled because we could not afford to play against 12 players. They have achieved what they wanted I believe they are now happy," said Kazembe.
