Banda's hat-trick powers Ntopwa second in NBM Premiership
Southern Region giants, Kukoma Ntopwa Queens moved up to second in the National Bank of Malawi National Women's Premiership with their second win after recording a 3-0 win over Topik Academy at the Mpira Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Forward Kondawo Banda netted a hat-trick into the game to secure a win for the Amaghetto Kids and earn herself a player of the match award after the game.
Head coach for the team, Isaac 'Jomo' Osman, was happy with the win and satisfied with the scoreline as the game was tough on their side.
"It was a tough game as Topik also came to win, it was not simple as we missed a lot of chances but still we managed to get three goals. We won 1-0 in our first game and now it's three which is good, we will keep on improving daily so that we continue doing better in the League." Said Osman.
On his part, Topik Academy head coach, Levi Mhone, saluted his girls for an improved performance into the game
but small errors cost them into the game.
"We are having some problems because we were preparing for the regional league and this league came late but at least we are improving because Ntopwa is one of the best teams in Malawi and we managed to hold them only that we gifted them goals." Said Mhone.
The Amaghetto kids are now second with 6 points from two games and are behind Ascent Academy due to goal difference while Topik Academy has no point and anchor the 10-team log table
