DE JONGH STILL HOPES TO WIN THE LEAGUE
Silver Strikers head coach, Pieter De Jongh, has said that his team still has hopes of winning the 2023 TNM Super League and that they will fight till the end.
The Dutch said this on Friday ahead of the team's match with Ekwendeni Hammers on Saturday which he says it will be tough but a win is a must for the Area 47 side.
"We play on Saturday at home against Ekwendeni Hammers and this is not just an ordinary game for us as we aim for a win. As usual we respect our opponents, they will come for a win as well as they want to fight relegation. So currently we haven't given up on our hope for winning the title. With the remaining games we hope to finish at 59 points," he said.
He further said he would love to play the match on Sunday to give a rest to the players but nothing can happen and they will play Hammers. After dating Ekwendeni, the Bankers will have to play Kamuzu Barracks and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets to wind up the league.
