Khungwa saves three penalties to take Wanderers into semis
Mighty Wanderers will face FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in the semi finals of the FDH Bank Cup after completing the last four slot in a hard way following a 3-2 penalty win over Creck Sporting Club at the Dimba Stadium on Sunday.
The Nomads struggled to get past the hosts who looked much spirited in the game and it ended goalless in 90 minutes then Dalitso Khungwa saved three of the five penalties to fire Wanderers to victory.
Frank Phiri and George Chaomba scored for Creck while Edward Jauma, Ramadan Ntafu and Emmance Nyirenda were denied by Khuda and for Wanderers, Masiya Manda, Promise Kamwendo and Blessings Mwalilino scored but Emmanuel Nyirenda's kick was saved.
Head coach for the Nomads, Bob Mpinganjira, was happy with the win but not the performance of the team.
"We didn't play the way we use to, we were down from the first whistle and failed to up the game but we have won through penalties, I'm so happy," he said.
