CHAWINGA RISES TO SECOND IN GOLDEN BOOT RACE

Scorchers vice captain, Temwa Chawinga, scored twice to inspire Kansas City Current to a 3-0 win over Houston Dash in the National Womens Soccer League in USA on Saturday morning.

Chawinga doubled the lead in the 17th minute before grabbing her second in the 68th minute to make it five goals in two games as she fully recovers from her injury sustained last year.

Her team moved up to 6th with 15 points from 9 games in the League. She took her tally in the League to five goals and one assist, moving second in the scoring chart, three goals behind Zambian forward Barbra Banda who has 8 goals and no assist.
