Mponda unsatisfied with Masters' play despite going top
Masters FC head coach Peter Mponda believes that the team has a huge gap to bridge before becoming a complete side, and that with their current performance, they cannot compete for the league championship.
He said this on Monday after his team secured a vital 2-0 win over LUANAR Mitundu at the Bingu National Stadium to go top of the league.
"We played at least better than our past two games, and we'll keep improving, but I can say we're at least at 30 percent and can't compete for the league title," Mponda said.
He added that their opponents were good in the game and deserved something from the match, but it was good that they stole maximum points.
Mponda also said that their win is not a motivation for the players ahead of facing Silver Strikers over the weekend, as they are different matches.
The rookies have leapfrogged FCB Nyasa Big Bullets to top the league with 9 points from three wins.
