BANGWE STRENGTHEN SURVIVAL HOPES
Bangwe All Stars have moved five points above 14th placed Chitipa United to strengthen their hopes to survive in this year's TNM Super League after beating Civil Service United 1-0 at the Balaka Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Super Substitute, James Msowoya, scored the winner on the 90th minute as the team continues their impressive form in the second round of the league and now near 12th placed Mighty Tigers on the log table.
Head coach for the team, Trevor Kajawa, said his team tough for a win and they really deserved their very sweet victory in the game.
"It a hard fought win indeed, we faced a good side and they gave us a tough run of the match but we came here to fight for a win and we deserved this win and I would say it is a sweet victory." Said Kajawa.
He further said that this is one of the good things that are coming from the team and they will not celebrate this week as they have to focus on the last three matches in the League.
The result means Bangwe remain 13th on the log table but have 27 points from 27 games this season.
DEPLETED MAFCO COMES BACK TO BEAT KB
Despite having just three players as substitutes, MAFCO FC came from behind to beat fellow soldiers Kamuzu Barracks 1-2 in a match played at the Nankhaka Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Peter Kasonga cancelled Olson Kanjira's first half strike from the spot on 54th minute before Bernard Chimaimba netting an 87th minute winner to stun the hosts and move up further on the log table.
Head coach for the team, Jimmy Mzunga, said he was happy with the win and having few numbers on the bench is beyond the team's control.
"I am very happy that we have won the game, the players really played according to what we told them and it is good that we have collected maximum points in this match." Said Mzunga.
Meanwhile, he said he is not yet satisfied as he will try to push for more in the team's final matches in the League so that they active a top four finish.

A Kelvin Nyondo's own goal and a Precious Chipungu's goal were enough to rescue a point for Mighty Tigers as the team came from behind to play a 2-2 draw against relegated side, Baka City, in a match played at the Karonga Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The hosts went ahead through Tambulani Mwale who converted a penalty kick on 28th minute as they led at half time before Mwale setting up Edgar Phiri on 52nd minute for a second goal of the match.
Nyondo's own goal reduced the arrears 10 minutes later before Chipungu levelling the scores on 74th minute as the team finished their away games with one point.
After the match, Leo Mpulula, head coach for the Kaukau boys failed to grant an interview to the media for his own reasons.
The Kanjedza based side remain 12th on the log table with 29 points from 28 games in the League and will feel the heat of Bangwe All Stars which now stays two points below them on the log table.

WANDERERS TERMINATES MWASE'S CONTRACT
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers has announced the termination of contract of their head coach, Meke Mwase, who has been missing at the team for over a week now.
The decision comes after the former Flames mentor failed to report for duties at the Lali Lubani Road boys from 04 November 2024 and that the team's efforts to get him back has not been successful.
Meanwhile, the team says it is working hard in order to find an interim coach so that everything continue going well at the team.
According to some rumours, Macdonald Mtetemera, could move to the Nomads camp after also agreeing to leave Creck Sporting Club and as for now the team is in the hands of assistant coach, Bob Mpinganjira who led the team to a 5-0 win over Mighty Tigers last week.
The coming coach will be the third for the Nomads this season as Nsanzurwimo Ramadan also left the club just as what Meke Mwase has done recently.

Flames interim coach, Kalisto Pasuwa, says everything is quite going well in his squad and everything looks very positive with high molare in the camp and with proper attitude, the team will get a good result.

NOMADS KEEP PRESSURE ON BANKERS
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers has trimmed their gap on Silver Strikers to four points on the log table as the team beat Mighty Tigers 5-0 at the Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Red-hot Wisdom Mpinganjira scored on 9th minute after meeting an Isaac Kaliati's corner kick before Gaddie Chirwa doubling it on 29th minute and Isaac Kaliati registered his 15th goal of the season as Substitutes Misheck Botomani and Francisco Madinga added to the tally too.
The team's Assistant coach, Bob Mpinganjira, said the win is a major boost as far as fighting for Championship is concerned.
"I am happy that we have won today, the players did exactly what we discussed during training. The win is good as it has put us near Silver Strikers and we will keep on fighting so that we get enough points." Said Mpinganjira.
The Nomads have now 50 points from 25 points in the League, four behind Silver which has 54 points from 24 games.
