Gwengwe nets third hat-trick to reach 20 goal mark for Poole
Malawian English based forward, Shaquille Gwengwe, continues to enjoy life at his new team, Poole Town after netting his third league hat-trick to help his team salvage a point in a 5-5 draw against Tiverton in the South League Premier South on Wednesday.
Fresh from netting a lone goal in a 1-0 win against Basingstoke, Gwengwe put up a brilliant performance that helped his team to avoid a defeat as his second half equaliser claimed the points.
The game produced 9 goals in the first half as the visitors took a lead through Tor Swann in the second minute but two minutes later Gwengwe levelled the scores before Tiverton scoring twice through Swann again and Aiden Horne to lead 3-1 at 15 minutes.
The hosts fought back brilliantly to score three goals when reaching 35 minutes into the game as Charlie Davie scored in the 19th minute then Gwengwe converted a penalty 6 minutes later while Ryan Campbell made it 4-3 for Poole Town.
It was not done for the visitors as they also reclaimed their lead before half time as Matthew Wood levelled the scores in the 44th minute and then Horne got his brace in the added time to make it 5-4 at half time.
Meanwhile, Gwengwe scored a lone goal in the second half as his strike in the 66th minute snatched a point for the hosts into the game.
The three goals help him to extend his lead in the golden boot race as he has 17 goals now, four above his pace-setter Dawid Rogalski of Walton & Hersham who has scored 13 goals in the league.
His team dropped down to fourth in the league as they have 31 points from 17 games sitting 13 points behind the leaders, Walton & Hersham.
Gwengwe has managed to score 20 goals for the team in all competitions in 21 matches he has played for the team
