K720 MILLION TO FINALIZE THE CHITIPA STADIUM

The Chitipa Stadium may take long to be opened after the Chitipa District Council revealed that about K720 million is needed to finalize the construction of the stadium in the district.

One of the councilors in the district, Msongole, confirmed about the development and said he has sourced about K300 million to be used in renovating the stadium while waiting for money from the government.

He said he is confident that this year, Chitipa United team will play at the stadium because few things are only left such as the dressing room, raising the fence, and putting the pen on the stadium, that will be done soon before the season starts.

"This will give hope that the Chitipa United team, whose goal is to be at the top of the table, this time in the TNM league, we will be able to help them achieve their goal." He said.

In all the season the Basongo have played in the top flight league, they have been travelling to Karonga to play at the Karo
