TEMWA CHOOSES USA

Scorchers forward, Temwa Chawinga, will become the first Malawian Women footballer to ply her trade in United States of America after penning a two year deal with Kansas City on Wednesday.

Chawinga joins the team as a free agent after the expiry of her contract at Chinese Womens football champions, Wuhan Jiangda, which offered her a one year deal and had some European offers. Temwa has snubbed all those offers to join Kansas which announced it on their official page.

Meanwhile, the World 2023 top scorer said she was happy to join a world class team and hopes to thrive with the team.

"This team is world-class in every way, from the facility to the environment at the club. I am excited to get started and hopefully bring home a championship," reads part of the statement on the club's website quoting Temwa.

This comes days after the striker was named as the World's best goal scorer after netting 63 goals, more than everyone else in 2023.
