BEACH SOCCER OFFICIALS THREATENED FOR NOMINATING HAIYA
Affiliates at Beach Soccer Association of Malawi has reported that they are receiving threats from unknown people through SMS's for nominating Super League of Malawi President, Fleetwood Haiya, for FAM Presidency at the forthcoming 16 December elections.
The Associations General Secretary, Wakisa Mwambetania, told journalists on Friday morning at a Press Conference in Salima that the unknown people started calling the Association's members threatening them for their decision made ahead of the elections.
He said they have been told that they will be punished if the incumbent President, Walter Nyamilandu Manda loses the elections.
Meanwhile, the Association's president, Gift Chimbalanga, said this can not changing their minds not to support on Haiya.
Fleetwood Haiya got 5 nominations whereas Nyamilandu got 3 with the National Women's Football Association not nominating either of the two.
