Silver board confirms CAF participation

Silver Strikers will play in the CAF Champions League in the 2025-26 season after the team's board approved budget to be used in the tournament.

This has been confirmed by Governor for the Reserve Bank of Malawi, Dr Mafuta Mwale, during an award presentation at the Sunbird Capital Hotel in Lilongwe on Saturday.

Mwale said everything is set and has challenged not just to participate but to compete.

"Let me confirm to you that your budget to participate in the CAF Champions League. Its a mistake, you will compete not participate." Said Mwale.

He also said the team will have a world class travelling bus by the month of May.

"We will have soon have a world class bus which even Manchester United can use. The deputy governor was just confirming that by May we will have it here." He added.

The Bankers qualified for the continental tournament after winning the TNM Super League in the 2024 season.
