TEMWA SETS A RECORD IN USA
Temwa Chawinga has become the first ever female player in the USA's National Women's Soccer League to score most goals in a season after surpassing a record that stood from 2019.
Chawinga scored a lone goal as Kansas City Current beat Bay FC 0-1 to secure maximum points but also set a heavy record as her 19th goal of the season is the most scored by one player in a season.
She joined the team prior to the start of the season and has become a prolific scorer for the team after now scoring in 14 goals in her last 14 games for the team.
The record had been held by Sam Kerr who netted 18 goals in 2019 but Chawinga matched it last week before breaking it this weekend.

"WE HAVE DIFFERENTIATED SUPER LEAGUE AND SOCIALS" - PASUWA
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach, Kalisto says he is happy to see how his boys played when going forward as every attack they made was turned out into a goal.
He said this after his team recorded a 22-1 victory over non-League side, Kumanda All Stars at the Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday afternoon as his team booked a place in the round of 32 in style.
He said he was happy to see how his team went forward ways as many attacks turned out to be converted.
"There isn't much to talk about only maybe the offensive part of the boys the mindset saying we are playing these guys and to show them that this is super League and the difference with Socials. You could see we witnessed that every time we sit into the attacking third we got a goal." Said Pasuwa.
He was also left happy to see Alick Lungu returning to action following a long time injury but was introduced on 72nd minute.
In the match, Chawanangwa Gumbo scored 8, Precious Phiri
"WE WERE PLAYING A MORE QUALITY TEAM" - MABEDI
Flames coach, Patrick Mabedi, says a red card given to his team on 16th minute cost them a lot and after trying to contain their opponents, Senegal being a good team found a way through into their defense hence the huge margin.
He said this after the team suffered a 4-0 defeat on Friday afternoon when the team conceded three goals in 8 minutes to complete the damage and minimize the chances of progressing to Africa Cup of Nations.
Mabedi congratulated Senegal and said his team played badly in the match but they need to adjust themselves in order to start performing better once more.
"We started very bad but what cost us most was the red card that changed the reflection of the game but overall we have to adjust because we have to act as soon as possible, we sat back because we didn't have numbers when going forward and tried to contain them but like I said Senegal is a good team, they found a way to get through us." Said Mabedi.
He further said that his team lost the balls easily when they had to keep the ball and with the quality in Senegal team, it allowed them to score more goals.
The Flames remain without a win in their group as they have no points from three games they have played in their group and a return match awaits on Tuesday at the Bingu National Stadium.

"WE NEED THE POINTS" - MABEDI
Flames coach, Patrick Mabedi, says his team will fight hard in order to get maximum points against Senegal on Friday as they do not have any point in their group but that will not come in an easy way.
He said this ahead of the match on Friday where he said the team is ready and had adapted well to the hot conditions in the country which will help them to have a good game.
He said he knows that Senegal is a very good team but at the end of the game, each team fields 11 players and they will strive for success.
"We need points as you know we don't have points so the points will help us to build much confidence when we are going home, I know it will not be easy but we need to dig much deeper if we are to get them." Said Mabedi.
He further said he is happy with the shape of the professional players who are looking better than the locals and expects a good game from them.

MAFCO sends apology to Bullets and Lungu
MAFCO FC captain, Paul Ndhlovu, has apologised to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and their midfielder, Wongani Lungu, following an incident that led to the injury of the star towards the end of the match.
On the 92nd minute of the game, Lungu went down into MAFCO's box before the players from both teams tussling and Yohane Malunga was seen deliberately stepping on Lungu's left leg before Blessings Chandiyang'ana stepping on his right causing the injury.
The former Mzuzu City Hammers vice captain was in tears when he received his player of the match award after the game due to pain and the Palestinians were also angered as they nearly stormed into the pitch but the stewards managed to control them.
