CHAWINGA CAN'T SAVE PSG
Tabitha Chawinga scored a goal but was not enough to take PSG through to the final of the UEFA Womens Champions League as the Parisans lost 1-2 to Olympic Lyon in their second of the semis on Sunday.
Chawinga had to level the game on 41st minute after Lyon had taken an early lead but the visitors scored their winner on 81st minute to progress into the final 5-3 on aggregate.

SAIZI OPENS ZANACO ACCOUNT
Flames midfielder, Robert Saizi, scored his first goal for ZANACO as the Bankers beat Kabwe Warriors 2-1 in the MTN Super League in Zambia on Sunday.
Saizi was granted a start in the match and paid the trust with an opener on 10th minute before Isaac Shamujompa on 44th minute and Aka Mwachiaba Scored for Warriors in the second half for a consolation.

Silver Strikers head coach, Peter Mponda, said he was happy with the performance of his boys saying their response after conceding was great.
Mponda said this after team recorded a 5-1 win over MAFCO on Saturday and the goals could have exceeded if his boys had converted every chance found.
"It's a sweet victory and I am very happy to win I think in the first 10 minutes we were not us and we cteated a lot of spaces but once we conceded, the boys responded well and got the goal, we could even have scored more." Said Mponda.

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach, Callisto Pasuwa, hailed his boys for their brilliant performance that saw them picking a 2-1 win over Baka City at the Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Pasuwa said his team struggled against Baka because they did not know their style of play but his boys always try to bring a good result even on a bad day.

Former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Striker, Chiukepo Msowoya, stormed into Baka City camp to encourage the team to do better when they face FCB Nyasa Big Bullets on Saturday.
The team's coach, Davie Muyombe, thanked Msowoya for coming saying he has motivated the players and that their morale has been boosted as the legend is also from Karonga.
Going into the game, Muyombe, said it is a must game win considering on where the team sits on the log table.
"It's a tough one, a big match against FCB Nyasa Big Bullets but it's a must win seeing at where we are on the log table so we are prepared for the game, we have no option to win in the match." Said Muyombe.

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets goalkeeper, Innocent Nyasulu, will not be available as the team play Baka City in their fourth match of the season due to eye problems.
The team's head coach, Callisto Pasuwa, confirmed the absence of the goalkeeper as tipped by the doctors at the team and also attacker, Chikumbutso Salima will not be available.
"We still have Chikumbutso Salima still out with injury, then we have Innocent [Nyasulu], the goal-keeper who is having a problem of eyes. Then we have the others who are still under the doctors and they are still out, they haven't yet recovered," he said.

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach, Callisto Pasuwa, has warned his charges against underrating rookies, Baka City, saying that will help them to perform well on Saturday.
The Zimbabwean tactician said this on Friday ahead of the team's meeting with Baka City at the Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday and said the visitors can give them problems because teams come with full force when facing Bullets.
"We haven't done much in the finishing phase when we play at home. The first thing for us is to have the correct mindset by not underrating our opponents, saying we are playing Baka City then putting it into our heads that they are rookies, they will end up giving us problems because these are the teams which give it all when playing against us, full of energy, they are motivated to face us." BUSHIRI PUMPS K21 MILLION TO WOMEN'S FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
Football Association of Malawi in conjunction with the National Women's Football Association as entered into an agreement with Goshen City which has unveiled a K21 million sponsorship for the Goshen City Women's National Championship.
This has been done on Friday afternoon between the two sides and Goshen's Visionaire Dr Prophet Shepherd Bushiri made the symbolic cheque presentation to FAM President, Fleetwood Haiya and National Women's Football Association Chairperson, Adellaide Migogo in Lilongwe.
Haiya led the Scorchers in presenting the 2023 COSAFA Women's Championship trophy to Bushiri in appreciation of Goshen City's K29 million support towards the team's participation at the tournament held in South Africa last year.
The Women's National championship which will draw 10 teams will take place at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe next Month.

APOSTLE KAWINGA SPOILS CRECK PLAYERS
Creck Sporting Club Patron, Apostle Clifford Kawinga, gave K100,000 each to the team's players and panel as part of encouragement to bounce back in style when they play Mzuzu City Hammers on Saturday.
This was done on Thursday night when the man of God hosted the players to a dinner at Sunbird Capital Hotel in Lilongwe.

CHIKUPIRA SCORES IN ZAMBIA
Scorchers forward, Vanessa Chikupira, scored her 7th goal of the season as Green Buffaloes beat Police Dove Queens FC 0-5 in the FAZ Women's Super League in Zambia.

BANGWE HIRES MSUKWA AS INTERIM
Bangwe All Stars has brought former FOMO FC coach, Mapopa Msukwa, to lead the team on an interim basis.
This comes after the departure of their coach, Christopher Nyambose, who terminated his contract due to family and health issues.
Msukwa was at Ntaja United where he guided them to a comeback 3-2 win over Red Lions last weekend in the Thumbs Up Southern Region Football League opener.
Msukwa cannot be the permanent coach because he has no requirements to lead a Super League team as he has a CAF C license.
CHAVINDA FIRES RAYON INTO FINAL
Malawi's Women Footballer, Mary Chavinda, scored two goals that helped Rayon Sports book for a place in the final of the Peace Cup after beating AS Kigali 2-0 in Rwanda on Wednesday.
Rayon went into the match trailing following their 1-0 loss in the first leg of the semi final but Chavinda stepped up to score twice and put the game 2-1 on aggregate.
Rayon are now in the final and will face Indagara WFC in a quest for their second trophy this season having won already the Rwandan Women Football league last month.

KAMENYA RULED OUT FOR SIX WEEKS
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers has announced that their star winger, Chifuniro Kamenya will not be available for their games for a month and half due to an injury.
The team confirmed the news on Wednesday saying their team doctor, Levie Mwale, said the player had broken his bone when the team played a friendly with Ntopwa FC two weeks ago.
Kamenya is one of the semi-senior players at the team and was part of the Flames Under 20 side that won the Four Nations tournament last month which he scored in the final.

She missed the January award but won it in February and has done it again in March making her to be nominated for the Player of the tournament award.

COSAFA INCLUDES MALAWI IN FEMALE COMMENTATORS WORKSHOP
The Confederation of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) has announced that it will host a workshop that will involve female commentators in the region with Malawians also benefitting.
The Regional Association said this on Wednesday via their Facebook page saying the session will be led by a legendary commentator, Mark Gleeson and that it will cover personalities from South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi.
"COSAFA is staging an historic workshop exclusively for female commentators from Malawi, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Today’s session is led by the legendary Mark Gleeson." Wrote the Association.
The workshop is believed to be historical as it becomes the first to be done in the African continent and one also worldwide.

TNM GIVES MALAWIANS HOPE
Sponsors of the Malawi Super League, Telecommunications Networks Malawi (TNM), has given a hope to Malawians after posting a photo of grievances that Malawians say about the prize money.
This comes in a time when the long seasoned sponsors are yet to disclose this year's package for the season after an earlier misunderstanding with the Super League of Malawi on making an affair with Premier Bet without their knowledge.
"You spoke: Sponsorship of peanuts, TNM you can do better, The whole season winning K40 million, Gate collections exceeding Prize money, a selfish TNM, a broke Super League," these were some of those comments that TNM highlighted.
The company announced that it will triple the prize money for the 2024 season when the last season ended and the unveiling ceremony will be done on Wednesday in Blantyre.
RASHID OUT FOR THREE WEEKS
Mzuzu City Hammers has announced that their captain, Yasin Rashid, will miss the team's action for three weeks or less due to injury.
Rashid was stretched off in the first half of the match that the team lost 1-0 to Mighty Waka Waka Tigers at the Kamuzu Stadium last Sunday and the team has released the extent of the injury.
According to Physiotherapist Lindie Anthony, Yasin Suffered an ankle sprain grade and said he can be back even before 3 weeks.
"Initially he was supposed to be out for 3 weeks but after receiving treatment and close monitoring there has been great improvement which can make him to be 100% fit in due course but we will not rush until he finishes the rehabilitation process," said Anthony.
The player was an important player in the team's first two games which they won against Civo United and Karonga United and managed to score a goal plus one player of the match award.

The three attended the match as they face them in their next match this coming weekend and was part of knowing their play and tactics.
Bangwe were held to a 1-1 draw at the Stadium as they remain bottom of the table with a point from their three games this season.

TABITHA NOMINATED FOR MVP AWARD IN FRANCE
Scorchers forward, Tabitha Chawinga, has been nominated for the most Valuable Player in the D1 Arkema in France after her stellar performance in her debut season.
Chawinga has been nominated for the alongside her teammates, Grace Geyoro from France and Olympic Lyon's star, Lindsey Holan for the award.
The 28 year old talented forward has 18 goals scored in her 19 league matches and boost those numbers with 10 assists more than anyone else in the League.
SECOND COACH RESIGNS IN THIRD WEEK
Bangwe All Stars has announced that their head coach, Christopher Nyambose, has terminated his seven month contract with the team in Monday.
Nyambose confirmed the development after the decision saying this has been done as she is committed to family activities and also regarding on his health.
He leaves the team on position 16 in the league having collected only one point out of the three games they have played this season.
He joined the team two months ago after his contract expiry at Mighty Waka Waka Tigers.
