Mighty Wanderers has secured the services of goalkeeper, Chancy Mtete aged 22 from Mzuzu City Hammers.
According to Wa Ganyu, the Nomads have paid a fee sorrounding K8 million to Hammers and K7 million will be his signing on fee.
Wanderers was the only team which managed to score past Mtete in the Castel Challenge Cup in 90 minutes and the Nomads will have him for William Thole who is expected to leave the team.
He is the fourth player to leave Hammers only this month after Chikumbutso Henderson joined FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Samuel Adeyemi went to Silver Strikers and Isaac Msiska left for Creck Sporting Club.
MUKURU DIVORCES WANDERERS
Mighty Wanderers has announced the end of partnership with one of their Sponsors, Mukuru, two years after their relationship.
The team has announced the news in a press release released on Thursday morning.
The company held the naming rights of the team meaning they will no longer be called Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in 2025 season.
Meanwhile, the Nomads find them and another sponsor, Ekhaya, in a jeopardy after the promotion of Ekhaya FC in the Elite League.

Mighty Wanderers duo, Vincent Nyangulu and William, will not renew their contracts at the team after they left the country in search for greener pastures, as per Wa Mpira reports.
Nyangulu was on a move already away from the Nomads with Ekhaya FC and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets chasing him but he is on trial with FC Platinum where Precious Phiri and Nickson Nyasulu are there.
Meanwhile, Thole has also left the country but a team where he would be is yet to be known.
NOMADS SHOT IN THE HANDS
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers has secured a kit sponsorship deal with the up and coming Betting company, 888 bets ahead of the 2025 season.
The team's Chief Executive Officer, Panganeni Ndovi, expressed his happiness over the deal which will see the Nomads earning K100 million from the company.
The company becomes the fourth betting company to storm the Malawian Football as Betway works with Silver Strikers, Premier Bet is for Dedza Dynamos and Betika works with Mzuzu City Hammers.

COACH BOB HAPPY WITH KAMWENDO'S ARRIVAL, MORE SIGNING PENDING
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers interim coach, Bob Mpinganjira, says the coming of striker Promise Kamwendo will help to increase the number of natural strikers at the team ahead of the 2025 season as they had only three in 2024.
He said this when the player signed a three year deal with the Nomads on Wednesday, 01 January 2025 and said Kamwendo is a good player.
"We are happy that he is here and has added the number of our natural strikers. Last season we had only three so this will bring a competition in front." Said Mpinganjira.
He said it was not tough to sign him again as he already impressed the team when he came in August before the deal collapsing following Football Association of Malawi's intervention.
He has however said the team could add some few players ahead of the next season probably the defense to strengthen the team.

MPINGANJIRA REMAINS POSITIVE ON CAF PARTICIPATION
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers President, Dr Thomson Mpinganjira, says chances are high that the team will play in a Confederation of African Football tournament in 2025 but it will be confirmed once the team's sponsors meet and agree.
He said this on Tuesday night during the team's Presidential ball event where outstanding players in 2024 where awarded by the team.
He said, "Of course we are still speaking with other sponsors to see how we can go about it but I'm sure that the team will play because they qualified and they have to play." Said Mpinganjira.
However, Mpinganjira also said that every player and member of the technical panel should be awarded K1 million as a token for winning the 2024 Castel Challenge Cup.

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers hot property, Isaac Kaliati, has been nominated for three awards ahead of the team's gala awards scheduled for 31st December 2024 where outstanding performers will walk away with awards.
Kaliati, who won the TNM Super League golden boot after scoring 17 goals, has been nominated alongside William Thole and Blessings Singini for the player of the year award at the team.

SAMA WINS A TROPHY FOR WANDERERS
Super Substitute, Sama Thierry Tanjong, fulfilled his words when signing his two years contract at Mighty Mukuru Wanderers that he want to win trophies with the team by scoring a lone goal to win their first ever Castel Challenge Cup on Saturday.
The Cameroonian scored two minutes after his introduction and that goal was enough to win the game as the Nomads beat Mzuzu City Hammers 1-0 at the Bingu National Stadium in the final.
Head coach for the team, Bob Mpinganjira, said he was very happy to win the tournament as the team now has something to point on this season.
He said: "I'm very happy with the boys with how they performed. It was a very tough match but we have now something to give it to the club and also to our President, Mr Thomson Mpinganjira so I'm happy." Said Mpinganjira.
Meanwhile, the Nomads have claimed a trophy and a prize money of K55 million for finishing first in the tournament and ending a trophy drought at the team.

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Chief Executive Officer, Panganeni Ndovi, says their Castel Challenge Cup final will define their 2024 season as it has been a season of a mixed feeling.
Ndovi said the game could fulfill one of their objectives of the season if they win the trophy but that will depend on the hard work of the players.
"Reaching the final of Castel Challenge Cup shows how focused we remain despite having lows in the season and this game will define our season as how we have performed this year." Said Ndovi.
He has however said he treats the game as one of the biggest games the team has played this season as Hammers is a good team that has beaten them also this season.
This will be his first official trophy if they win the tournament today since his appointment as a CEO at the Blue camp.

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers head coach, Bob Mpinganjira, says he expects a very different game from the match they won 8-0 in the League this season and the team needs to work extra hard to win the trophy.
He said this on Friday ahead of the match against Mzuzu City Hammers in the final of the Castel Challenge Cup in Lilongwe on Saturday at the Bingu National Stadium where he said his team is prepared.
He said this is their last chance to win a trophy this season and they have agreed to have this one although it will not come on a silver platter.

NYONDO SCORES AGAIN AS WANDERERS REACH CASTEL FINAL
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers has become the first team to reach the 2024 Castel Challenge Cup final after beating Panthers 3-0 at the Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Forward Clement Nyondo scored his 13th goal of the tournament before Blessings Singini's thunderbolt and Gaddie Chirwa's cool finish sealed the win following an impressive second half display by the team.
Head coach, Bob Mpinganjira, was happy with the win saying it was not an easy thing to beat the lower league side.
"It was a tough game, I said it already that they are good and you could see today they came and held us in the first half then Second half, we pushed hard then we got the goals." Said Mpinganjira.
He further said that the team will keep on fighting in order to find a silverware this season as the Castel Challenge Cup is their only hope for a trophy this season.

KALIATI NAMED 2024 BEST PLAYER, WANDERERS BEST CLUB
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers midfielder, Isaac Kaliati, has added two accolades at MBC Entertainers of the Year award after being voted as 2024 Player of the year and Sports Personality of the year.
This follows a tremendous effort put in the 2024 season that saw him win 8 man of the match awards to score 17 goals and provide 9 assists in 27 games and win the golden boot this season.
He has however defeated Crispin Mapemba and Chimwemwe Idana for the best player award and he got the best of Frank kandu and Peter Mponda to win the best Sports personality award.
