LEVERKUSEN CANT LOSE

Bayer Leverkusen has done it again on Thursday after netting a 98th minute equaliser to avoid their first loss of the season and extended the unbeaten to 49 to reach the final of the UEFA Europa League with a 4-2 aggregate win over AC Roma.

The team trailed 2-0 at 80 minutes but an own goal at 82nd minute gave them life to lead 3-2 on aggregate before Joseph Stanislas scored in the added time to cement the win.

Leverkusen have won their first ever Bundesliga trophy, ending Bayern München's utsamunda and secured final spots in DFB Pokal and now UEFA Europa League.

The team has never lost a game in 2023/24 season and their unbeaten run has stretched up to 49 games.

Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso, will stay at the team till next seaeon.

This comes after interests from his former clubs, Liverpool and Bayern Munich to join them in the summer but both sides have failed to land him.

It is understood that the two sides together with Real Madrid will keep on following him so he can join them in the coming years.
