Scorchers trip to Zambia on

Football Association of Malawi President, Fleetwood Haiya, says it is the right time their Association stop depending everything on the government but rather find sponsors so that they have all their plans fulfilled.

Haiya said this to confirm Scorchers' trip to Zambia for two friendlies to go as planned after the Malawi National Council of Sports said they will not fund the trip.

He said it is his wish to see Womens Football active and every FIFA window and tournament, the Scorchers will be playing.

"The government doesnt help us only financially but also technically but we need sponsors also as the government can not do it all alone."

FAM secured friendly matches after the withdrawal of Congo Brazzaville in the 2026 WAFCON Qualifiers leading the automatic progress into the second qualifying round.
