Nyirenda, Nyondo out as Wanderers date Hammers
Mighty Wanderers will still miss their reliable defender Emmanuel Nyirenda and last season's Castel Challenge Cup top scorer Clement Nyondo when they face Mzuzu City Hammers in the Quarter finals of the tournament at the Rumphi Stadium on Sunday.
The team's head coach, Bob Mpinganjira, said this ahead of the match to confirm their travelling squad and also said Lawrence Chaziya misses out as he has left the team.
Nyirenda and Nyondo are still nursing injuries alongside Chimwemwe Nkhoma who has been sidelined for a year now.
Meanwhile, Mpinganjira said the team will play on a familiar pitch as they were there two weeks ago and that the approach will be different from their 2-1 defeat in the league.
"They are the only team to beat us in the League but this time it will be different and we are ready for it," he said.
A win will secure a place in the semi finals where they will face FCB Nyasa Big Bullets for a Blantyre derby.
