Tigers blow away two-goal lead to stagnate in relegation zone
Mighty Tigers failed to maintain their lead that could earn them a vital win in their battle for survival after squandering a 0-2 lead to suffer a 3-2 defeat against Chitipa United at the Chitipa Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Super substitute Daniel Shadreck came off the bench to score a brace in the opening 11 minutes of the first half but Chitipa's substitutes Mally Kasongo (brace) and Zenda Manda scored for the hosts to seal a win.
Head coach for Tigers, Trevor Kajawa, described the result as a big set-back as a win could have been a good result for them.
''We scored in a good time but we conceded three goals in the same space that we scored so it is a bad result as we have given ourselves pressure,'' said Kajawa.
He however said they will try to do more in their remaining three matches as their chances for survival are still plenty.
The team has dropped to 15th with 26 points from 27 games, four points below safe
