Mhango drives Malawi to a massive come back
Flames forward, Gabadinho Mhango, scored an equaliser before brilliantly setting up Chawanangwa Kaonga for an equaliser as Malawi fought back from two goals down to play a 2-2 draw against Liberia at the Bingu National Stadium on Monday evening.
The Lone Stars got an early lead after Ayouba Kosiah fired them ahead on 3rd minute and they had to defend their lead till half time before adding second just after the hour mark when Malawi pushed for an equaliser.
Mayele Malango had replaced Patrick Mwaungulu minutes before the second goal and sent a lovely ball to Mhango whose bouncing header when into the net on 71st minute then Chawanangwa Kaonga replaced Macdonald Lameck to score an equaliser on 79 minutes.
Malawi kept on the pressure but failed to get a winning goal but a draw was vital as they rose from the Jaws of a defeat.
A point puts them up to 10 points from three wins, one draw and four defeats in their group.
