FOMO beat Baptist in Mulanje
FOMO FC secured their fourth win of the season after handing Mitundu Baptist their third defeat of the season in a 2-1 win at the Mulanje Park Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The three goals were scored in 6 minutes to settle for the result as Chifuniro Kanfunani and Chitsanzo Saidi stroke on 62nd and 64th minute respectively for FOMO but Raheem Mtondera's 66th minute penalty goal was just a consolation.
Head coach for the Victors, Jimmy Zakazaka, praised his boys for the job well done to secure their fourth win of the season.
"It was a tough game as Mitundu came to grab points from us but we had a good preparation for the game, we told the boys to press hard in the first half but we missed many chances and second half, we just let them play according to instructions and we scored two beautiful goals which won us the game." Said Zakazaka.
However, Stanton Thomson of Mitundu Baptist blamed the officiation for contributing to their defeat in the match.
"We came here to win but we have witnessed one of the boring matches. The referees have destroyed the game contrary to what League Sponsors want but we will go back and try to bounce back strong in the next match." Said Thomson.
The result took FOMO up to 7th in the League with 12 points from four wins and four losses while Baptist are third in the League with 15 points from five wins and three defeats.
