Kamwendo banks first NDL
Joseph Kamwendo got his first NBS Bank National Division League victory after Mchinji Villa beat Ntaja United 1-2 to also bank their win of the season at the Balaka Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Juwao Davie opened the scores 6 minutes into the first half before Kelvin Mustafa doubling it on the hour mark but Harrison Phiri netted a consolation goal on 85th minute for the hosts to suffer their fourth defeat of the season.
Speaking after the match, Kamwendo said his team played according to instructions hence the win and he believes it's a beginning of good results for the team.
"It was a good game as today we came to win and the boys put up a fighting spirit, we scored early and in the second half we doubled it which enabled us to be in command of the game." Said Kamwendo.
On the other part, Chisomo Kamlanje said the referees denied them good goals in the second half which was hard for them to comeback into the game.
"We conceded an early goal which w
was hard for us in the first half but in the second half, we came strong and got clear goals which referees denied us, it's very painful to be stunned by referees at home." Said Kamlanje.
A win for Villa takes the team up to 6 points from one win, three draws and four defeats in the League while Ntaja drop down to 8th with 10 points from three wims, one draw and four defeats
