Zitha denies Chilumba first win
Chilumba Barracks were on a blink of claiming their first ever League win when they led by two goals at half time but surrendered it in the second half to play a 2-2 draw against Namitete Zitha at the Karonga Stadium.
The team's talisman, Matorino Clement put the team ahead with just two minutes on the clock before Mapopa Munthali adding second on 35th minute but Symon Chimenya pulled one back on 54th minute before Alexander Cosmas breaking the soldiers hearts with an 82nd minute equaliser to snatch a point for Zitha.
Head coach for Chilumba Barracks, Nelson Chirwa, described the result as disappointing as his boys lacked maturity in the game.
"Very painful as the boys lacked maturity. Leading by two goals they thought they have already won the game but it happens in football, we need to correct our mistakes as we move forward." Said Chirwa.
On his part, Richard Fosiko of Zitha blamed the officiation as they were supposed to win the game.
"I don't know if this is happening to others teams as well because the referees were making decisions which were against us and also our third goal was clear but they said it was offside of which I don't know where it came from." Said Fosiko.
Namitete Zitha are now fourth on the table with 11 points from three wins, two draws and one loss in 6 matches while Chilumba are up to 9th with three points from three draws and three defeats in the League.
