"WE WERE PLAYING A MORE QUALITY TEAM" - MABEDI
Flames coach, Patrick Mabedi, says a red card given to his team on 16th minute cost them a lot and after trying to contain their opponents, Senegal being a good team found a way through into their defense hence the huge margin.
He said this after the team suffered a 4-0 defeat on Friday afternoon when the team conceded three goals in 8 minutes to complete the damage and minimize the chances of progressing to Africa Cup of Nations.
Mabedi congratulated Senegal and said his team played badly in the match but they need to adjust themselves in order to start performing better once more.
"We started very bad but what cost us most was the red card that changed the reflection of the game but overall we have to adjust because we have to act as soon as possible, we sat back because we didn't have numbers when going forward and tried to contain them but like I said Senegal is a good team, they found a way to get through us." Said Mabedi.
He further said that his team lost the balls easily when they had to keep the ball and with the quality in Senegal team, it allowed them to score more goals.
The Flames remain without a win in their group as they have no points from three games they have played in their group and a return match awaits on Tuesday at the Bingu National Stadium.
