Babatunde wins Airtel Top 8 Golden Boot; sets record as the highest scoring winner
The Nigerian striker underlined his status as one of the complete strikers in the country by bagging 8 goals in Airtel Top 8 competition.
Babatunde Adepoju has been named Airtel Top 8 Golden Boot winner after topping the scorers chat.
After being deemed as a surplus at Mighty Wanderers within the season, Babatunde joined the People's team.
Fittingly, the Airtel Top 8 Golden Boot winner recorded his first hat-trick of the season in all competitions by scoring 4 goals against the former club, Wanderers.
He is the first player to score more than 5 goals in the competition since it was inaugurated in 2017.
In the inaugural year, Khumba Ng'ambi was the first Airtel Top 8 Golden Boot winner with 3 goals, then Joseph Kamwendo won the award in 2018 with 2 goals, and later Khuda Muyaba bagged 2 goals.
In an interview with Babatunde, he attributed the achievements to how Nyasa Big Bullets is organised.
He said "the quality at Bullets in anything they do is making my job easy,".
