Wanderers claim valuable point to maintain unbeaten run
Mighty Wanderers failed to keep their lead twice but managed keep their unbeaten run after playing a 2-2 draw against Silver Strikers at the Bingu National Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Nomads stroke aa early as four minutes through Peter Cholopi but Binwell Katinji levelled the scores in the 34th minute then Muhammad Sulumba restored the lead three minutes in the second half which Katinji eclipsed it three minutes later from the spot.
Head coach Bob Mpinganjira thanked his boys for their brilliant performance into the game despite giving away their leads.
''We were playing against one of the big teams in Malawi but the boys fought hard and we got two goals but we failed defend them. It happens in the game of football,'' said Mpinganjira.
Having remained unbeaten but holding a small lead, Mpinganjira downplayed pressure on his team and that they itch for more points in their remaining matches.
