Scorchers head coach, Lovemore Fazili, has said that the goalkeeping department which mostly looks as a weak point for the team was very excellent against Angola and was happy to see a clean sheet which the assistance from the defense.
He said this after the team played a goalless draw against Angola in the first leg of the Women's African Cup of Nations qualifiers away in Luanda on Thursday.
He applauded all players in the game that they played very but only the forward line failed to convert the chances which where plenty in the game.
"You've seen the way the goalkeeper has managed the goals, very excellent performance, even the defense, the midfield. I think the only chance we had was finishing the last chance up front but all in all our strikers did a recommendable job as well and even the wingers did their part," he said.
Malawi will face Angola in the return match at the Bingu National Stadium on 28th October 2025.
